What you need to get your Indiana real estate license

Broker:

  • Be 18 years old or older.
  • Complete a 90-hour real estate pre-licensing course.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete and pass the real estate examination.

What is the passing score for the Indiana real estate license exam?

The exam comprises 125 questions, 75 national and 50 state law questions. To pass the exam, you must answer no less than 60 national questions and 38 state-specific questions correctly.

As soon as you finish your exam, you will obtain your score.

What is the time limit for the Indiana real estate exam?

For the broker exam, you are allowed 150 minutes for the national portion and 90 minutes for the state portion, for a total of 240 minutes (4 hours).

What to bring for the state of Indiana real estate license exam?

  • You must provide 1 form of identification. A valid form of government-issued identification (driver’s license, state ID, passport) must bear your signature and have your photograph. In addition, it must be current and unexpired.
  • Your name, as shown on the application form, must exactly match the name on the photo ID used when checking in at the amination site.
  • Broker candidates must bring the original proof of completion from the pre-license education course, dated within 365 days of the exam date. This proof must be shown at each exam attempt. AN ELECTRONIC VERSION OR HARD COPY WILL BE ACCEPTED.

What is the format of the exam?

The exam is given on a computer. See the sample questions shown on page number 13 of the Indiana Candidate Information Bulletin by PSI. They are intended primarily to familiarize you with the style and format of questions you can expect to find in the examination.
