What you need to get your real estate license in Kentucky
Sales associate:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Proof of completion of pre-license education.
- You must go through a complete FBI criminal background check.
- Complete and pass the real estate examination and apply within 60 days.
- Complete the application form given to you upon passing the exam on-site.
- Fees:
- Examination Fees: $100.
- License: $60
Broker:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- You must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Proof of completion of 21 credit hours with 12 in real estate from an accredited college with three credit hours in Brokerage Management or three hundred thirty-six (336) classroom hours in real estate from an approved proprietary school with 48 in Brokerage Management. To request an education review, you can fill out this form, and 10 days of processing is allowed before you register for an examination.
- You must go through a complete FBI criminal background check.
- Complete and pass the real estate examination and apply within 60 days.
- Complete the application form given to you upon passing the exam on-site.
- The application will have an experience verification affidavit; you must have 2 years of experience working at least 20 hours a week as a licensee.
- Fees:
- Examination Fees: $100.
- License: $30.
What is the passing score for the Kentucky real estate license exam?
The sales associate and the broker exam consists of 80 national questions and 50 state-specific questions. To pass, you must answer correctly at least 75% of the questions.
You will receive your score immediately after you complete your exam.
What is the time limit for the Kentucky real estate exam?
For the sales associate and broker exams, you have 4 hours.
What to bring for the state of Kentucky real estate license exam?
- Candidates must provide one (1) form of identification (Driver’s license, passport, green card, U.S. social security card, or debit or credit card with signature).
- You must bring a basic, silent, non-programmable calculator which does not have a keyboard containing the alphabet.
What is the format of the exam?
The exam is administered on a computer and consists of multiple-choice questions.
