What you need to get your real estate license in New Hampshire
Salesperson:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- The salesperson application must be fully completed, signed, and notarized by you, character references, and the principal broker no earlier than 30 days before being submitted to the Commission office.
- Complete the required 40-hour pre-licensure course.
- Send the criminal record release authorization form and the $25.00 fee to the New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of State Police.
- Original examination passing score report(s).

- Provide a $25,000 surety bond if applying for an active principal or managing broker license.
- Submit the criminal record release authorization form, along with the $25.00 fee, to the NH Department of Safety, Division of State Police.

What is the passing score for the New Hampshire real estate license exam?
The Salesperson exam contains 100 questions in the national portion, while the state portion comprises 40 questions. You must achieve a scaled score of 70 to pass each portion of the salesperson exam.
The national portion of the broker examination consists of 10 simulation problems and is presented in a simulation format. The state portion includes 40 multiple-choice questions. Points are awarded for the national simulation section in the Information Gathering (IG) and Decision Making (DM) sections. Your IG total raw score is the sum of points from all IG sections, and your DM total raw score is the sum of points from all DM sections. These raw scores are converted to scaled scores, with a minimum scaled score of 70 required for both IG and DM to pass. The state portion of the exam requires a scaled score of 70 to pass.
What is the time limit for the New Hampshire real estate exam?
For the salesperson exam, you have 2.5 hours for the national portion and 1.5 hours for the state portion.
For the broker exam, you have 2.5 hours for the national simulation portion and 1.5 hours for the state portion.
What to bring for the state of New Hampshire real estate license exam?
Two forms of identification. The primary ID must be government-issued and current and include your name, signature, and photograph. Temporary IDs are not accepted. Additionally, you must sign a roster to verify your identity.
Primary identification may include:
