What you need to get your real estate license in New Hampshire

Salesperson:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Signed affidavits from three-character references. No person who is related by blood or marriage to an applicant may serve as a character reference on the application.
  • NH criminal history check.
  • Proof of 60 hours of approved education.
  • Evidence of either full-time work under an active principal broker for a minimum of one year within the past five years or at least 2,000 hours of part-time experience.
  • Submit evidence of at least 6 separate real estate transactions in which the applicant was actively involved and was compensated.
  • Original examination passing score report(s).
  • Application fee: $121.
  • Examination fee: $78.

What is the passing score for the New Hampshire real estate license exam?

For Salespersons:

The exam contains 80 questions in the national portion, while the state portion comprises 40 questions. You must score of 56 points to pass the national portion and 28 to pass the state portion of the salesperson exam.

For Brokers:

The national portion of the examination consists of 75 items, and you need to score at least 56 to pass. The state portion has 40 questions with a minimum of 28 correct ones to pass.

What is the time limit for the New Hampshire real estate exam?

For the salesperson exam, you have 2.5 hours for the national portion and 1.5 hours for the state portion.

For the broker exam, you have 2.5 hours for the national portion and 1.5 hours for the state portion.

What to bring for the state of New Hampshire real estate license exam?

One form of identification. The ID must be government-issued and current and include your name, signature, and photograph. Temporary paper license are only accepted if accompanied with a state issued unexpired permanet license.

Primary identification may include:

  • State identification card with photograph.
  • Passport.
  • Military identification card with photograph.

You should arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment time. This extra time is for sign-in, identification, and familiarizing you with the examination process.
