What you need to get your real estate license in Wyoming

Salesperson:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Complete the application form.
  • One recent close-up photo.
  • Proof of completion of Salesperson Courses I and II
  • Submit your fingerprint cards with $39.
  • Complete and pass the Wyoming Law Course.
  • Complete and pass the real estate examination.
  • Fees:
    • Test center: $80.
    • onVUE: $90.
    • License: $300.

Broker:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Complete the application form.
  • Proof of completion of Broker Course I (30 hours) and Broker Course II (24 hours) plus evidence of completion of Wyoming Broker Management (if you are applying for Responsible Broker).
  • Responsible Broker candidates must complete an 8-hour Wyoming Real Estate Management course approved by the Wyoming Real Estate Commission within one year immediately preceding the Commission’s receipt of the license application.
  • Submit your fingerprint cards with $39.
  • Consent is required to examine and audit the form if applying as a Broker.
  • Proof of Errors and Omissions insurance – Individual coverage or group coverage.
  • One recent close-up photo.
  • Complete and pass the real estate examination.
  • Fees:

    • onVUE: $90.
    • License: $300.

What is the passing score for the Wyoming real estate license exam?

The salesperson exam consists of 80 questions on the national portion and 40 questions on the state-specific portion.

The broker exam consists of 80 questions on the national portion and 50 questions on the state-specific portion.

The Wyoming Real Estate Commission and Pearson VUE determine passing scores through rigorous study. Scores range from 0 to 100, with a passing grade of 75. Your score will show on the screen after the exam, and a report will be emailed to you.

What is the time limit for the Wyoming real estate exam?

For both the salesperson and broker exam, you are allowed 4 hours.

What to bring for the state of Wyoming real estate license exam?

  • Two matching, non-expired ID forms with a valid signature (e.g., driver’s license, passport, green card, U.S. social security card, debit/credit card). If your registration name differs from your ID, bring proof of the name change.
  • Basic (non-scientific) calculator.

What is the format of the exam?

The exam is administered on a computer and consists of multiple-choice questions.

The national portion of the salesperson and broker real estate exams contains the following topics:
