What to Know About Your Maine Exam

Maine Real Estate Exam Passing Score

For sales agents:

The exam has two (2) sections: the General (National) and Maine Law (State) sections. The examination score works on a scale of 0-100 with a passing score of 75 or more (The score does not represent the number of questions answered correctly or the percentage). The national portion of the real estate exam comprises eighty (80) scored items and five (5) pretest items that will not count toward the score. The state portion possesses 40 scored items and 5-15 pretest items. Because pretest items look precisely like scored items, candidates should answer all the items on the examination.

For associate brokers and brokers:

The associate broker and broker licenses do not require an additional exam; they only need to complete the pre-licensing education requirements with a minimum score of 75%.
