What to Know About Your Vermont Exam

Vermont Real Estate Exam Passing Score

For salespersons:

The national portion of the exam consists of 100 national questions, and you need to score 70 points to pass that portion of the exam. The state portion of the salesperson exam is administered by the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) as part of the initial application process. For more information, visit the Vermont official state website. Each item on this “minimally competent practitioner” (MCP) examination has been previously judged on its difficulty. The judgments are averaged to determine the minimum passing score.

For brokers:

The national exam includes 90 questions, and you need to score 75 points to pass that portion of the exam. The state portion of the exam is administered by the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) as part of the initial application process. For more information, visit the Vermont official state website. Using the weights assigned through the scoring process, a minimum passing level (MPL) was determined to reflect the performance expected of a “minimally competent practitioner” (MCP) for each section.
