What Do You Need to Get a Real Estate License in New Mexico?
Associate Broker:
- Apply online using the NMPlus portal.
- Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing courses distributed in 30 hours in each of the fallowing courses: Real Estate Principles and Practice, Real Estate Law, and Broker Basics, not longer than three years prior to making the application.
- Pass the Broker Exam (National and State portions).
- Be 18 years old or older.
- Be a U.S legal resident.
- Examination Fee: $ 95.
Qualifying Broker:
- Apply online using the NMPlus portal.
- Complete 120 hours of commission approved pre-licensing courses, including one 30 credit-hour course each in Real Estate Principles and Practice, Real Estate Law, Broker Basics, and a Brokerage Office Administration course.
- Be 18 years old.
- Be a legal resident of the USA.
- Been actively engaged in real estate business as an associate broker for at least two of the last five years.
- Passed the Broker’s examination.
People who were qualifying brokers on or before December 31, 2005 do not need to comply with these requirements and may obtain qualifying broker status again by filing a Trade Name Registration Form and paying the $20 trade name registration fee to the Commission.
