What Do You Need to Get a Real Estate License in Oregon?
Broker:
- Be 18 years old or older.
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
- Create an account in the agency’s online license management system (eLicense).
- Apply for a broker license. That requires paying a $300 fee through eLicense, which is nonrefundable.
- Finish 150 hours of mandatory broker pre-license education at a real estate school approved by the Agency.
- Schedule and pay for the license exam online or at (833) 892-5441 with PSI, the testing services provider.
- Pass the broker license exam.
- At a PSI test center, complete the payment and fingerprinting process for the required background check.
Principal Broker:
- Be 18 years old or older.
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent.
- Have held an active real estate license for no less than 3 years.
- Log into your existing eLicense account to apply for a principal broker license and submit the nonrefundable $300 application fee.
- Take the Brokerage Administration and Sales Supervision course. This course must be taken through an approved continuing education provider and consists of 40 hours.
- Schedule and pay for the license exam online or at (833) 892-5441 with PSI, the testing services provider.
- Pass the principal broker license exam.
- Choose to work under:
- An existing registered business name. The principal broker must log in to eLicense to link your license to the business, even if you are already employed there.
- Your own registered business name.
