What to Know About Your Texas Exam


Texas Estate Exam Passing Score

For salespersons:

To pass the exam, you must correctly answer 56 questions on the National examination and 21 questions on the State examination. The national/general portion of the real estate exam is made up of 80 scored items and 5 pretest items that are not counted toward the score. The state law portion of the Texas Sales Agent Real Estate Examination consists of thirty (30) scored items.

For brokers:

You need to correctly answer 60 questions on the national examination and 38 questions on the state examination. The national/general portion of the real estate exam is made up of 80 scored items and 5 pretest items that are not counted toward the score. The state law portion of the Texas Broker Real Estate Examination consists of 50 scored items and 5-10 pretest items.

When you complete the examination, you will receive a score report marked “pass” or “fail.”

What You Need to Bring for the Texas Real Estate Exam

You are required to present two forms of current identification bearing your signature. The name on these identification documents must match your registration’s name. The primary identification must be government-issued, include a photograph, and have your signature(Government-issued Driver’s License, Passport, Passport card, Military ID, etc.), and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature(U.S. Social Security Card, Debit (ATM) or Credit Card, etc.). Identification must be in English.
